If you enjoy wine tasting, then you have to go on the Rocky Top Wine Trail while you stay with us! Along this wine trail, you’ll make your way to 5 different wineries to enjoy free limited wine tastings. You’ll also receive a couple of free gifts by the end of your tour! To keep the fun going, you should spread your visits across a few days instead of trying to visit all the locations in one day. Here’s everything you need to know about the 5 stops along the Rocky Top Wine Trail:
1. Hillside Winery
Located in Sevierville, Hillside Winery specializes in Italian and celebratory wines. They partner with local grape farmers to use their product for their wine, crushing over 856,000 pounds of grapes every year. You can take a tour of their facility to learn a little more about their wine making process. There’s an outdoor patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine. Hillside also serves wine slushies in whatever flavor you want, and you can also get a cheese tray to pair with your wine!
2. Apple Barn Winery
The Apple Barn Winery is part of the Apple Barn Village in Sevierville, Tennessee. Their wine is unique because instead of using grapes to make their wine, they use apples grown in the orchard on site. Apple Barn Winery has a variety of wine types, from Apple Barn Wine to Apple Barn Muscadine to Vineyard Red. They also have fruity flavor combinations, including peach, raspberry, and strawberry. If you find a wine you really like, you can purchase a bottle and have it opened for you while you eat at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant or Grill!
3. Apple Barn Cider House
In the same Apple Barn Village where the Winery is, the Apple Barn Cider House is another stop along the Rocky Top Wine Trail. Although they don’t serve wine, you will enjoy trying their hard ciders crafted by their Master Cidermaker. You can try the South Cider if you’ve never had hard cider before since it is their apple flavor. They also have Sip Gingerly, a ginger apple hard cider, as well as Cider House Blues and Berry Patch, which are hard apple ciders with berries. If you prefer ciders on the sweeter side, you should try those flavors. If you don’t like it so sweet, get the Hop Zen.
4. Mountain Valley Winery
Mountain Valley Winery is one of the oldest wineries in the state of Tennessee. If you visit before 5 pm, you will be able to tour their facility to find out more about their wine making process. Wines from Mountain Valley Winery have been winning wine competitions for years. They specialize in fruity, sweet wines, including Rhubarb, Watermelon, and Red Velvet, which really does taste like the cake. You can enjoy outdoor seating, wine slushies, cheese boards, and more at Mountain Valley Winery!
5. Mill Bridge Winery
The last stop along the Rocky Top Wine Trail is Mill Bridge Winery. This winery serves hand crafted wines and hard ciders. Their outdoor patio is a great place for your free limited wine tasting, especially since it overlooks the Little Pigeon River. They also specialize in wine and hard cider slushies, which are great for hot summer days!
