A Little History
The Apple Barn was originally a working barn, built in 1910. The first apple trees were planted in 1976, and now there are over 4,000 apple trees in the orchard. In 1980, the barn was revamped, and the other shops were added over the years!

When you come to the Apple Barn, you have to stop by the general store. You’ll find homemade apple butter, jam, jelly, and so much more. Home decor and other special gifts are also sold at the general store. A candy store is part of the general store as well, and you don’t want to miss out on all the treats available!
Try the Cider
The Cider Mill was opened to share apple cider with the public. Trying a glass immediately was in demand, which led to the opening of the Cider Mill! Not only can you try the cider, you’ll also find all kinds of freshly baked goods at the cider bar. You can’t go wrong with an old fashioned apple stack cake or apple cinnamon doughnuts. Stop by and try these delicious treats!
Visit Both Restaurants
The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is the original place to eat on the property. You’ll find classic southern meals, as well as the ever popular apple fritters the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is known for! It was so popular, the Farmhouse Grill was opened soon after. At the grill, you’ll find healthier options of the same favorites from the restaurant. Some of the specialties include apple julep chicken, apple cinnamon muffins, and apple butter. Once you eat at either of the restaurants, you’ll want to come back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Get Some Ice Cream
After you grab a bite to eat or if you’re in the mood for a treat, go to the Apple Valley Creamery for some dessert! There are over 60 flavors of ice cream, and you can eat it in virtually any form you want, from cones to sundaes! While their specialty is ice cream, you’ll find all kinds of other baked goods. The apple banana nut bread is great, as well as the cinnamon apple bread and the apple coffee cake. You can’t go wrong with any of these sweets!
Taste the Wine
Part of the Rocky Top Wine Trail, the Apple Barn Winery has a ton of house made apple wines you can taste. There are dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines, perfect for every palate. You can also take a tour of the facility to find out how the wine is made.
